Tax Settings

Configure how sales tax is calculated on quotes and invoices.

Configure

1. Go to Settings > Rates and Tax (More > Settings > Rates and Tax on mobile)
2. Set your Sales Tax Rate (percentage)
3. Choose what Tax Applies To: Parts only, Labor only, All line items, or None
4. Tap Save Settings

A new account starts on Parts only.

What Gets Taxed

The setting covers whole line types. There is no per-line switch:

• Parts only: parts are taxed, labor and fees are not
• Labor only: labor is taxed, parts and fees are not
• All line items: labor, parts, and fees are all taxed
• None: nothing is taxed

Tax is worked out before any discount, and a line the customer declines is not taxed.

Per-Job Rate

You can change the rate on a single work order. What the rate applies to always comes from this setting. A change to the setting reaches an existing work order the next time its line items, rate, or discount change.
